Background

The North Hykeham Twinning Association has been twinned for over 30 years with the town of Denzlingen in south-west Germany.  The two communities were twinned in 1988 and the official signing of the 'Twinning Oath' by the Mayors of the two towns took place on 22nd April 1989.

Twinning between the two communities began because of a wish to establish the bond of friendship; for both of our Associations it is about promoting opportunities for groups, large or small, individuals and families to get together to entertain, make and share enjoyment together.  Within this context visits take place between the two Associations, each travelling to the 'twin' town on a biennial basis - hospitality freely given and freely received.  The aims of the Assocation are many but it helps build new friendships, furthers our own understanding of culture and place, helps to extend our horizons and can help establish useful commercial links.

The Twinning Association is supported by North Hykeham Town Council.  The Association encourages membership from individuals, families, clubs, schools, community groups, or businesses.
